WARNING: This page may contain spoilers and ruin the joy of adventure.

Small underground areas found in some houses and evac shelters. Shelter basements can contain assorted useful equipment for survivors in need, and make good places to set up a makeshift bedroom. Houses rarely have basements, but when they do they're almost always worth the time, as long as one is careful, a flashlight will help to see in these areas as well as awaken any threats that may otherwise surprise one in the dark.

In a house's basement, you might find stashed drinks and food, weapons and ammo, marijuana grow rooms (in much better shape than the farms, incidentally), or perhaps home labs. If you are particularly lucky, you might even find mutagens!

Possible basement types

Weapons Storage

This basement variant contains several rows of shelves, all stacked with multiple firearms and boxes of ammo. Some gun-related skill books (such as Archery for Kids and Guns n Ammo) can also be found on the shelves.

Games Center

This basement variant contains a pool table (with pool balls and pool cues lying on it), a room in a part of the basement with washing machines and clothing, and a bar with lots of drinks.

This kind of basement, aside from the above, can spawn in certain instances with a hidden bionics lab behind a locker in the back. One method to ensure a basement like this spawns is to start with the High Tech, Low Life scenario.

Underground Cannabis Farm

Dirt fields, cannabis and cannabis seeds, nothing very interesting.

Spider-infested basement

This kind of basement, aside from large amount of spiders (a great source of meat, if you manage to kill 'em all) and spider eggs, can contain pretty much everything, even power armor.

Survivalist Basement

Survival stuff mostly, some tools, books and moderate amount of food.

Underground Chem Lab

Contains chemicals, drugs, glass containers and even a chemistry set from time to time.

Carpentry Workshop

If you're lucky, there may be thousands of nails lying around, along with a canoe-type boat.

Tailor's Workshop

Enough clothing sheets to outfit a small army, plus tailor's kits.

Junk Basement

Random furniture thrown around with little of interest. Has a small chance of containing gun safe though.
