Downed is a disease that reflects that a character is knocked down or on the ground. When a character is downed, he or she cannot move and must pass a strength check to stand up and break the status duration. Whether the check is passed or not, the character will spend 100 movement points if he or she tried to move.

Downed NPCs are unable to move and spend 100 movement points each turn while downed.

The downed status can be acquired for a short time from NPCs, when they deal critical cutting strikes or use some melee techniques. It can also be caused by the claw attack from the Jabberwock, with a one in six chance of causing this if the attack hits.
