A pale white fungus, one meaty gray stalk supporting a bloom at the top. Spores are periodically expelled from its gills, and a few tendrils extend from the base, allowing mobility and some basic means of defense.

This creature is a human sized fungus. It's an incompetent fighter with moderate hit points. It's extremely slow, clumsy, has low armor against bashing weapons and no armor against cutting ones (that includes bullets). Its special ability allows it to release spore clouds, every 30 turns.

It has extremely high morale and it's peaceful. Being a fungus, it's afraid of being hurt, nearby fires, and can be angered by nothing in particular.

It stumbles around, is poisonous to eat (produces tainted meat when butchered), doesn't breathe (it's not affected by smoke, toxic gases, drowning, etc), has no distinguishable head (it's unaffected by head shots), can produce plant marrow and plant fibre when butchered, and nothing else.

Being made of vegetable matter, it's vulnerable to fire, smoke and, particularly, tear gas and radioactive gas.

When it dies, nothing in particular happens.

(View - Edit Notes )Notes

Can infect you with spores, but will not actively try to harm you, even if attacked. If allowed to stay in the player's reality bubble, they will breed and convert the landscape into fungal growths. To a properly protected player, they are completely harmless, but their explosive growth can be highly annoying due to the lag it can cause, once enough fungaloids accumulate.

Can be butchered for fluid sacs, which can be eaten raw (low nutrition, moderate quench) or processed into cooking oil or dehydrated vegetables, and fibrous stalks, which disassemble into a profligate quantity of plant fiber.

The fungal landscape can include marloss berry bushes. Anything that would become a fungal shrub can randomly become a marloss bush instead.

Many types of zombies will attack fungaloids, this makes them vulnerable to becoming fungal zombies, which may work in one's favour: a more powerful type of zombie will attack the fungaloid, and then will become the weaker fungal zombies.
