A pair of goggles that amplify ambient light, allowing you to see in the dark. You must be carrying a powered-on unified power supply, or UPS, to use them.

This is a somewhat heavy clothing item made of steel and glass, which covers 95% of your eyes, and which has no storage capacity. It doesn't occupy too much space, encumbers you a bit, and will provide some warmth to the areas it covers.

It offers low protection against bashing attacks and low protection against cutting ones (that includes bullets), while offering low protection from environmental hazards.

It has no extra particularities.

This clothing item can be repaired, fitted (if appropriate) and reinforced via the mechanics skill, by using a soldering iron and scrap metal.

A German Army soldier with a "LUCIE" night vision.

Notes

  • If you manage to find this and some batteries for it, you have hit quite a milestone and jackpot, as this item allows you to sneak into cities at night without zombies easily noticing; going into the city during the daytime is basically inviting zombies to dinner unless you have the means to clear them out of the city, and most firearms are more likely to be found in the city anyway...
  • This may be surprising, but taking these goggles into the sewers and subway tracks is actually more dangerous than bringing a flashlight, as many of the monsters that dwell down in these areas; sewer rats, seweranhas, and sewer snakes have night vision, but can't see well when the player brings a flashlight near them.
  • Just remember, this item is useful for sneaking and stealthy attacks; fighting against a horde head-on with these valuable goggles on will lead to them breaking as they are fragile, do you really want to lose them in the middle of a zombie infested city?
