Throwing weapons

Throwing weapons in Cataclysm DDA are mostly open-ended, since all items can be thrown. However, throwing varies in range and damage, for example, a television might not be able to be thrown very far, however it generally deals more damage than a plastic bottle, which in turn can be thrown much farther than a television. Some items are purposefully built for the purpose of throwing, like a wooden javelin, and it will generally have longer range and damage, however other things like winter boots are less likely to be as effective but can be thrown anyway.

There is a flat accuracy penalty for range, so throwing a towel 2 spaces will certainly be more accurate than throwing a branch 7 spaces.

Note that the item you throw will fall to the ground around the location you wanted to throw it at, so you can lose it if a horde of zombies blocks you off from the item you threw!

The throwing weapon skill will increase how far you can throw things and lets you throw things more accurately. It is trained by throwing things at something, even walls work for training. This skill is important to make every throw count, as missing means you will have to pick that item up again.

To determine how far you can throw something, it will show the maximum range in the throwing menu. To determine how much damage a throwing weapon does, use logic! Would you rather throw a rock at a zombie or a box of cereal?

Also, all glass items that can shatter will do extra damage like the easily obtainable glass shard, and some items will outright do no damage, even if it is a headshot, like socks!
